Neuma, of the Greek πνεύμα:
Soul, air, spirit, breath.
Neuma Quartet is a chamber group based from its origins regarding very singular work methods in understanding music. Their energy and mutual understanding cannot leave indifferent a curious listener.
Estela Córcoles, Alejandra Villalobos, Anna Pujol and Raquel Díaz have given life to this quartet during their professional training years at l'Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, with flutist Júlia Gállego.
During their trajectory, Neuma has been acclaimed by world renowned musicians that stand out their sound quality, the homogeneity of the group and their connection on stage.
Quartet Neuma will be offering concerts during this season in Spain and Europe: Brussels, Germany, Aragón, Madrid, Valencia, Castilla y León and Euskadi.

Estela Córcoles López
She finished her music studies at Esmuc in 2012 with Professor Júlia Gállego.
Her passion for chamber music has led her to take part in several groups which she is currently developing different projects in Barcelona.
Her skills combine her artistic work with teaching, and she works as a teacher in different schools from Barcelona.
ψυχή (soul). Hard-working, responible and a perfectionist. The one who allows everything to be in order. Open to new horizons she is tireless at achieving new challenges.
Alejandra Villalobos Cortés
Talavera la Real, 1988
She finished her studies and received her Masters Degree in performance from ESMUC in 2013 with Júlia Gállego, and completed it with Silvia Careddu.
She works as a flute teacher in different schools from Catalonia. She is passionate about flamenco, making use of the flute in this field, she combines classical performance with the study of this other musical language.
αέρας (Air) Sensitive, determined and cautious. She has her feet on the ground. She provides a rational view and helps not to forget the simplest things in life. She is a fundamental pillar of rythm and intonation in Neuma.
Anna Pujol Contreras
In 2014 she graduated in Bachelor of Music from ESMUC with Júlia Gállego. She is currently studying a Masters of Arts in Music Performance at Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano (Switzerland) with Professor Andrea Oliva.
There are two key elements in her musical career which have always encouraged her in her musical training: chamber music and orchestra. Her great fascination for piccolo flute has always been an incentive in her artistic development.
φάντασμα (Spirit) Expressive, inquiring and original. The one who wants to share her passion of what she does. She listens and searches to come up with the best ideas, aiming to inspire the senses of all the members of the quartet.
Raquel Díaz Esquiva
Graduated in 2014 from ESMUC with Júlia Gállego. She is currently continuing her studies at Accademia Pianística “Incontri col Maestro” di Imola with Professors Andrea Oliva and Maurizio Valentini.
She has a particular interest for the low register instruments of the flute family.
φύσημα (breath) Passionate, creative and ingenius. The one who follows her impulses. She always proposes new ideas. Her concern to constantly improve and innovate brings out the best of everbody in the quartet.
